About SMBworks

It began with a web design seminar invitation, joining faculty from the mathematics department at university, as an undergrad. I created my first web page in the early days of Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator, and built a micro-site as a teaching assistant in grad school for physics. I was hooked.

While cultivating a portfolio, I met with two fellow high school alumni—brothers who ran their own business. Shortly after that meeting, I had four clients and my own freelance business. I would partner with one of the brothers five years later, one of four at GS Marketing Group. Over the years, I programmed on the front and back end, and got involved in still-larger projects in a project manager or business analyst role. I became an integral team member serving household names in insurance, automotive, and other markets. And the connection that looped me into the enterprise work also brought me full-circle, empowering SMB with tools we developed along the way.

Spun off from the partnership, SMBworks is a virtual team—right-sized for each job. Sometimes I lead, sometimes I support. Together, we enjoy our relationships with repeat clients and seek new opportunities.
